Our Story

Hi friends! 

I'd like you to know a little about me and how The Redwood Co. came to be!

My name is Aleshia; I am a dog mom, a nurse, a military spouse, and a lover of music. I grew up in a small community in Southwestern Ontario, minutes from Lake Huron. After University, I moved to Ottawa to start a new job, which is where I met my now fiancée. A couple years later, we were relocated to Halifax and though the experience has been incredible, being 1700km away from my loved ones has been challenging! I started hand-drawing and colouring personal cards for friends and family members for various life events and holidays. A few of the recipients figured out I was making them, and said that they would be interested in buying some from me, if I were ever interested in selling them. And that's when the wheels started turning... I learned how to do the same style of drawing electronically on a tablet and now my cards can be shared with many! 

Now for the Redwood name... for years I have been drawn to Redwood trees. First of all, if you've seen one in person, you know - they are magnificent! Big enough to drive a car through while stretching far into the sky, and yet they are one of the oldest and strongest trees because of their resiliency and adaptability. These are admirable characteristics that I continuously aim to demonstrate in my life.
